Pipeliner’s Outreach integration helps collaboration between your Sales and SDR teams. The integration creates automatic, real-time updates for data transfer from Outreach to Pipeliner. Leads, Accounts & Contacts can be automatically created in Pipeliner when team members using Outreach are ready to send information to Sales (checking for duplicates of course) and can then update Contact details from Outreach directly into Pipeliner on an ongoing basis.

PRE-REQUISITES: In order to use this integration, you will need to have a Pipeliner Cloud subscription and an Outreach subscription (www.outreach.io).  If you want to map Outreach users directly to Pipeliner users, they will need a license in both applications.

How to activate the Outreach integration in the Pipeliner Automation Hub

From the Admin Module, click on the Automation Hub Menu Item.
Find the Outreach integration ⤵

Click on the Outreach card and then “Request” to request activation of the integration for your space ⤵

Outreach Configuration Settings

Once you have clicked on "Request", you will need to select from the following options in the "Configuration Settings" ⤵

Use Outreach owner for the newly created Pipeliner records?

Turn on this option if your Outreach Users are also Pipeliner Users and select the default Pipeliner user if there is no matching Pipeliner user.

If your Outreach Users are not Pipeliner users, then only select the Pipeliner user who should be the default owner on newly created Pipeliner records.

Update Contacts

Turn on this option if you want to continuously update Pipeliner Contacts from Outreach.

Once you have selected your preferred settings, click on “Continue” to progress to authentication. Click on “Authenticate” ⤵

Click on "New Authentication" ⤵

Use the suggested name or, particularly if you’re using more than one integration, change it to something more user-friendly e.g “Pipeliner ‹› Outreach Integration” ⤵

You’ll need to login to your Outreach account to finish the authentication process ⤵

You’ll receive an onscreen message that the authentication has been successful and that Outreach is connected. Click on “Finish” ⤵

In the Automation Hub, the integration will now show as “Add Pending”. A member of our team will approve and, as soon as that is done, the integration will be running ⤵

How does it work?

Custom Fields

Once only, immediately after set up and approval, the integration will add new custom fields to your Pipeliner Accounts, Leads and Contacts.

Custom Fields

Outreach Opportunity › Pipeliner Lead (and Account)

When a new Opportunity is created in Outreach, a new Lead is also created in Pipeliner. The owner of the new Lead will depend on the option you chose in the Configuration settings and will be either the specified, default Pipeliner user or a user from Outreach who is also a user in Pipeliner (based on login email address). If you switch on the option to use the Outreach owner for the newly created Pipeliner records, if there is no matching user in Pipeliner, the default owner that you chose will be used ⤵

The integration uses the following field mappings to update the new Lead record:

If there is no existing Account in Pipeliner with a matching name, the integration will create a new Account record and link the Lead to it.

The integration uses the following field mappings to populate the new Account record:

Outreach Contact › Pipeliner Contact (and Account)

When a new Contact is created in Outreach, a new Contact is also created in Pipeliner. The owner of the new Contact will depend on the option you chose in the Configuration settings and will be either the specified, default Pipeliner user or a user from Outreach who is also a user in Pipeliner (based on login email address). If you switch on the option to use the Outreach owner for the newly created Pipeliner records, if there is no matching user in Pipeliner, the default owner that you chose will be used.

The integration uses the following field mappings to populate the new Contact record:

If there is no existing Account in Pipeliner with a matching name, the integration will create a new Account record and link the Contact to it. It will use the same mappings as before.

Update Contacts

If you have enabled this option in the Configuration settings, as Contacts are updated in Outreach, the corresponding contact will be updated in Pipeliner.

NOTE: The mappings above will be used and all mapped fields will be updated with the new information from Outreach
