How to install the Pipeliner Gmail add-on, how to track & compose emails and view and create records in Pipeliner using the add-on

Installation of the Pipeliner Gmail Add-on

Login to your Gmail Account. Click on Get Add-ons (+ symbol in the right hand panel) and search for Pipeliner ⤵

Click on Gmail Add-on and then the "Install" button ⤵

You'll need to choose your Google account and then click "Continue" ⤵

"Allow" the add-on permission to access your Gmail account ⤵

Click on "Done" to complete installation ⤵

Once activated, a Pipeliner icon will appear in the right hand panel ⤵

Click on the Pipeliner icon to open the add-on in the sidebar. Once the panel opens, you will need to sign in to your Pipeliner CRM Account. Use the same credentials you use to login to your Pipeliner CRM account when filling in your email address and password. Once completed, click “Sign In to Pipeliner” to submit your information ⤵

Select an email to get started

Once logged in, the add-on will display associated contacts if they already exist in Pipeliner or allow you to create a new contact if unknown.

Clicking on the three dots icon and then “More Actions” allows the user to create additional entities directly into Pipeliner

Additional options from the three dots icon include “Settings” - the user can Sign Out or Change Space, “Refresh” which will reload the data from Pipeliner and “Manage Add-on” to check the version or uninstall. ⤵

Select the Space you would to use with Pipeliner from the list.

NOTE: List may not appear if you only have access to one space.

Compose a new email

Click the three dots icon at the bottom of the email ⤵

The “Add recipient from Pipeliner” option will allow you to add an existing account or contact from Pipeliner to your email ⤵

Creating Records from the Smart Inbox Pane

Using the add-on, you can pull in information from your email to create a New Lead, Opportunity, Account, Contact, Task and Appointment.

Click on the three dots icon and then select “More Actions” and choose which type of record you want to create ⤵

Additional options from the three dots icon include “Settings” - the user can Sign Out or Change Space, “Refresh” which will reload the data from Pipeliner and “Manage Add-on” to check the version or uninstall.

Viewing Records in the Smart Inbox Pane

This feature enables you review all associated contacts, accounts, leads, opportunities and activities directly within your online Gmail. You do not have to leave Gmail to obtain more details about the contact your are currently speaking with. Click on any email in your inbox, and the Pipeliner CRM Gmail Inbox App matches data from the sender and recipients with data in your Pipeliner CRM.

To see how this works, click on an email from a contact associated with Pipeliner.

Once its selected, the related contact will show in the add-on panel ⤵

Click on the Contact to drill down into additional information ⤵

Click on "Open in Pipeliner" to open the contact's record in Pipeliner in a new tab

"Save Email" will save a copy of the email to the Contact's Feed in Pipeliner. If the email has attachments, those will also be copied into the new Feed email.

"Create Opportunity" - will create a new Opportunity related to the Contact

"Create Lead" - will create a new Lead related to the Contact

"Create Account" - will create a new Account related to the Contact

"Create Task" - will create a new Task related to the Contact

"Create Appointment" - will create a new Appointment related to the Contact

Clicking on any related record will open up the full details in the side panel and will give access to the options to create additional related records ⤵

NOTE: This feature detects existing data about Contacts or Pipeliner users based on email address, if it can't find a match it will display “Unknown Data”.
