How Admins can access, use and export the Audit Log in the Admin Module

This article answers the questions:

What is the Audit Log (Admin Module)?

Pipeliner Administrators for our Enterprise customers can now access a new “Security” menu in the Admin Module. From the Security menu, the “Audit Log” tab will show additions and changes made to the set up of Pipeliner by Administrators in the Admin Module as well as tracking when data is exported from the CRM app.

Only users based on a role that gives them access to “Audit Log” will be able to access this tab.

NOTE: The Audit Log displays all events from 26th February 2020 when this feature was first released ⤵

How to access the Security menu

Enter the Admin Module — from the Pipeliner CRM Application, click on the App Switcher in the top left corner ⤵

NOTE: Only Administrators will see the Administration menu

Click on the “Security” Tab ⤵

Add/remove access to the Audit Log for a User Role

Click on the "Units, Users & Roles" menu and then the "Roles" tab. Select a role you want to update and then click on the "Edit Role" button from the right hand panel.  Select the "Administration" tab and then Enable/Disable the "Audit Log" option ⤵

Searching and Filtering Events

You can search for a specific event — e.g. “Exported” — in the Search box or Filter the Events list using the "Filter" options ⤵

You can filter on:

  • Period — select from All, Previous Week, Previous Month or a Custom selection of your choice

  • User — select the user who made the changes

  • Category — the Admin module menu area you are interested in

Exporting the Audit Log

You can export the events from the Audit Log to Excel or a CSV file.  Click on the “Export Audit Log” button and select your output option ⤵

Exporting Entity Changes

You can also Export Entity Changes that apply to any Lead, Account, Contact, Opportunity, or Activity. When anyone makes a change to an entity, it will automatically log it and can be viewed within the security tab or in an individual record. Exporting entity changes allows you to choose the Users, Entities, and Period for which you wish to view this information via Excel or a CSV file. 

NOTE: The Export Entity Changes button will allow you to export all changes (subject to your filter selections) going back to 1 April 2020 when this feature was first released .
